Monologue — a longer spoken answer in Estonian

The speaking part of the exam is a paired conversation in which you answer questions, give your opinion and make proposals. Here you practise a longer spoken answer on a given topic and get AI feedback.

Pick a topic and speak — your answer is reviewed by AI:

How a monologue relates to the exam

The speaking part of the Estonian B1 exam has no separate monologue task: the examiner asks questions from a topic sheet and the candidates answer in turn, then the two candidates discuss the same topic with each other and have to reach an agreement, and finally there is a short role-play — one candidate phones the institution named on their card and the other answers as its employee.

A coherent monologue is the simplest way to prepare for that on your own. Answering in turn assumes you can speak on one topic for several sentences in a row, give examples and justify your opinion without anyone nudging you along with questions — and that is exactly what you practise here.

How the practice works

Pick a topic, record your answer or type it in the box — the AI turns speech into text. As soon as you send it you get feedback on task completion, grammar, vocabulary and fluency, a reminder of what you left untouched, vocabulary hints and a model answer.

Practice is free and needs no account — before an AI task you only confirm that you are not a bot. The feedback comes from an AI system: it is practice feedback, not an official exam result.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a monologue in the B1 exam?

There is no separate monologue task — the speaking part is a conversation plus a role-play. But in the first half of the conversation you answer on a topic alone and for several sentences in a row, so practising a monologue prepares you directly.

How long should you speak?

About a minute or two: a short opening, two or three points with reasons, and a conclusion. One-word answers do not show what you can actually do.

How is the answer assessed?

The AI gives feedback on four sides — task completion, grammar, vocabulary and fluency — and adds a model answer. In the real exam your answer is recorded and rated by the exam organiser’s assessors.

Is the practice free?

Yes. Every topic and all AI feedback are free and need no account — there are no accounts in this Service at all; before sending, your browser just confirms you are not a bot.
